About
Hi! My name is Vincent, and I am the tailor behind Rags & Mends Denim Repair.
I’ve always been fascinated by the art of creation. From a young age, I would be dismantling things to find out how they are made, how they function, where they come from and what stories they carry. This insatiable curiosity, combined with my deep love for vintage fashion, naturally led me to discover a passion for sewing.
As I began my descent into the world of textiles and garment construction, I couldn’t help but notice something troubling with modern clothing: the fashion industry often cuts corners when it comes to the quality of the clothing they produce, prioritizing profit over durability and craftsmanship.
In the past, garments were designed to last a lifetime. People learned to cherish their clothes by wearing them through the years, repairing them when necessary, and passing them down through generations. This sense of longevity and care for one’s wardrobe is something I deeply admire, and it’s what drives me to restore and repair garments today.

My mission
I want to help you rediscover your love for that favorite pair of denim jeans you stopped wearing because of that little crotch hole, or that ripped up chore coat passed down from your grandfather that you can’t bear to part with but wish you could wear.
Jeans have a way of revealing so much about the person who wears them. In a sense, they act as personal diaries, each one telling its own unique story. Whether it’s the fading of the fabric, the creases, or the worn-out patches, these garments carry memories and experiences. I'm here to preserve those stories and bring them back to life, so you can keep wearing the clothes that mean something to you.
